Herd Immunity as a Government Policy in Response to COVID-19 Failed Miserably

May 10, 2020 By admin Leave a Comment

Nassim Taleb got this right, UK and Swedish Governments did not – avoiding lockdown and losing precious time to contain pandemic just brought unnecessary thousands of deaths. Kudos to governments of Israel and Greece embracing early lockdown measures and choosing lives over doubtful models. Prioritizing local economy in the time of the global crisis is a futile exercise ignoring long term risks, putting lives at risk, without any considerable benefits to the local economy.

Thought for the day from @nntaleb "the higher you go, the more incompetent institutions are. The most incompetent people are in places such as the WHO and the US Centres for Disease Control; the most competent people are in small villages." pic.twitter.com/7xYGTWHHXB
